About Pilates Apps

We started Pilates Apps for a simple reason: we both love to move, and we want more people to feel what a regular practice does for the body — week in, week out.

Exercise is a daily thing for both of us. It's not a program we finish; it's just how we live. What we kept noticing is how many people want that for themselves but were never taught the how — how to move well, safely, in a way that holds up over years instead of leaving them sore or discouraged. So we built a company to teach it properly.

Meet Elaine
Founder & Pilates Teacher

I love the potency of Pilates. After more than 25 years in the fitness industry, I've yet to find a movement method more effective, especially when it comes to changing how a body looks and moves, and getting people out of pain for good. Its whole design is built around bringing awareness back to your center, and I've come to believe that kind of centering is exactly what most of us need. That's where my passion for this method comes from. The benefits to your body are only the beginning.

Joe Pilates said, "Physical fitness is the first requisite to happiness," and I couldn't agree more. Come move with me and feel the brilliance of this method in your own bones, and start to notice for yourself how moving with awareness changes more than just your body.

In 25 years of teaching, the part I love most hasn't changed: watching someone realize they can do this. A person who came in nervous, sure their body wasn't built for it, finds out it was all along. They just needed to be taught clearly, at their own pace.

Training & certifications: BS, Exercise and Sport Sciences, University of Florida (2001) · Core Dynamics Pilates Certification, Miami (2005) · Power Pilates Certification, NYC (2008) · Continuing education with Rebecca Leone (2014).

A note from Thomas
Founder & Filmmaker

I'm the one behind the camera. I'm an Emmy Award–winning director and cinematographer, and my day job is making films and TV shows for brands like Food & Wine, Airbnb, and Travel + Leisure. The reason these courses look the way they do isn't polish for its own sake — it's so you can actually see the movement clearly and follow along without guessing. Good instruction deserves to be shown well.

But I'm not only behind the camera. I move my body every day, and since bringing Pilates into my weekly practice my low back pain has gone away — my core got stronger, and I'm learning to move with purpose. That's what I want for you too, and it's why I want this work to motivate people to move.

What we're building

Our aim is to translate Elaine's 25 years of practice into clear, result-driven Pilates mat courses for real bodies at every level — starting with the foundations and building from there. And as the courses grow, so does something we care about just as much: a community of people who've caught the same thing we have, and want to keep moving, keep learning, and keep improving together.

We're glad you're here. - Elaine and Thomas
